English Wines at Pheasants Ridge
We make two wines, a dry white and a dry sparkling wine. Both of the wines are featured on our Restaurant Wine Lists and are very popular!
PHEASANTS RIDGE BACCHUS DRY 2009
We think of this as England's answer to Sancerre because the wine does have very distinctive chalky Loire-like characteristics, but with its own English elderflower flavours too. Deliciously refreshing either on its own or with food – especially recommended with goat's cheese. Silver Medal, English and Welsh Wines of the Year Competition 2010.
PHEASANTS RIDGE BRUT
This has all the hallmarks of a great English sparkler – fresh acidity with pure, green apple fruit and subtle depth of flavour. It is made in the same method as Champagne and does make a very worthy alternative. It hold its fizz as well as any top Champagne. Even we are amazed by its quality! Our current sparkling wine is made from grapes harvested in 2008. Silver Medal, English and Welsh Wines of the Year Competition 2011.
